About Smukluk and STH Woodturning

Our Story

Smukluk began during the pandemic as a misheard phrase between my son and myself.  It grew into a fantasy land to escape into with stories as a way to navigate the stress of that time.  It has grown to encompass a number of passions under one umbrella, such as science, art and growth of self.

Our Process

One passion is working with one of natures hidden beauties, wood.  When one looks at a tree, it is like looking at a person, you can see the outside, but the beauty that is inside is hidden.  My passion to bring out that inner beauty starts with STH Woodturning.  Whether it be a normal or exotic piece of wood and transforming it into a useful piece of art.
